TYPES OF FIBC BAGS
- Safe to use for transporting non-flammable products.
- Standard FIBC used by industries who are filling & discharging products with no static problem.
- Not intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
- Simply is a plain bag, no requirements are specific for type A FIBC.
- Safe for use when no flammable solvents or vapors present around the operation area.
- Safe to use for transporting dry, flammable powders.
- Plain bag with limiting the breakdown Voltage less than 6kV.
- Not intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
- Safe for use when no flammable solvents or vapors present around the operation area.
FIBC Bags Type C, commonly known as Conductive FIBC. These are made of thin conductive threads – making them suitable for carrying dry, combustible powders securely. FIBC Bags Type C are constructed of non-conductive fabric with conductive strands intertwined.
- Also known as Conductive FIBC.
- Safe to use for transporting dry, flammable powders.
- With a max. leakage resistance of 108 Ω to the grounding point.
- Grounding is compulsory during filling & discharging, a label or sign is indicated.
- Safe for use when no flammable solvents or vapors present around the operation area.
- Breakdown voltage less than 6kV.
- Designed for use safely in potentially explosive atmospheres.
- Made from fine conductive threads & equip a conductive mesh.
UN Accreditation is a testing certification performed by an independent testing centre that puts the specified bulk bag to a series of stringent testing, including drop, topple, and top lift tests. UN-approved FIBC bags are intended to meet the United Nations Recommendations for the storage and transportation of hazardous Goods.
Well-known laboratories test and certify UN-approved FIBCs to fulfil the standards of packaging category II and III products.
For explosive materials, there are four varieties of FIBCs manufactured of woven polypropylene:
- 13H1 – PP woven FIBCs, without coating.
- 13H2 – PP woven FIBCs, coated.
- 13H3 – PP woven FIBCs, with liner, without coating.
- 13H4 – PP woven FIBCs, with liner and coating
Our UN Certified Bags go through rigorous testing procedures:
(I) Top lift testing
(II) Vibrant testing
(III) Stack testing
(IV) Drop testing
(V) Righting testing
(V) Topple testing
(VI) Vibrant testing
(VII) Tear testing
- Explosive Material used to fill in the UN Bags (SF is always 6:1).Customer may ask for IIP (Indian Institute of Packaging) certification for UN bags.
- UN Certification is a testing certification done by an independent testing facility that put the specified bulk bag through a set of rigorous test, i.e. drop test, topple test, and top lift test. UN certified FIBC bags are designed to comply with the United Nations Recommendations on the Transport of dangerous Goods. Which included 4 types of FIBC as follow:-
1. 13H1 – PP woven FIBCs, without coating.
2. 13H2 – PP woven FIBCs, coated.
3. 13H3 – PP woven FIBCs, with liner, without coating
4. 13H4 – PP woven FIBCs, with liner and coating - UN certified FIBCs are tested and certified by well known laboratory to meet the requirements of packaging category II and III materials.
- All the UN certified FIBC must have UN code printed on it.
Note: There is no safety factor 6:1 for UN bags. This term is unknown in the UN regulations. UN bags are not classified by safety factors. They are classified by packing groups I, II or III. The safety factor 6:1 refers to FIBCs for non-dangerous goods only.
Categories of UN bags

Design of bags
- 4 Panel side seam bag: A four panel bag is the original polypropylene design. This design requires seams along four separate pieces of fabric sewn to create a four panel bag.
- U panel Bag: A U-Panel bag requires 2 seams along 2 opposite sides to create 2 panels and a “U” Panel shape.
- Baffle/ Q bag:
- Baffle Bag
- Tie Baffle
- Net Baffle: Baffles are pieces of fabric that are sewn to the inside corners of a bag to maintain its cube shape after filling. The baffles have holes that allow the product to flow freely through them. The baffles also prevent the bag from bulging, which makes the bag stand up straight and in turn allows the bags to be more efficient in their use of space. Net and tie baffles are another type of baffle option.
- Circular Cross Corner bag: Circular bags are made from fabric that has been woven on a circular loom. The fabric is woven into a continuous tube of fabric and then cut to the correct size height. It is also an excellent alternative to the original four panel bag construction. The loops are sewn on cross corners.
- Conductive Bag: A type “C” bag is constructed from fabrics having inter-connected conductive threads. The bag must be electrically grounded during filling and emptying.
Used safely to transport flammable powders.
Used safely when flammable solvents or gases are present around the bag.
DO NOT USE when ground connection is not present or has become damaged. - Asbestos Bag: The strict legislation governing the packaging, storage and transportation of chemicals means that the bags made to carry those products must be manufactured to an extremely high standard.
- Ventilated Bag: Manufactured using 26 stripe ventilated fabric that provides over 45% ventilated area allowing the wood or logs to breathe and season.
